TBD Architecture + Urban Planning is searching for Intermediate and Senior level Architectural Technologists to join our team.

TBD Architecture + Urban Planning is an Edmonton-based architectural design studio specializing in Sports and Recreation, Civic/Cultural, Multi-Family Housing, and Urban Master Planning projects. We are currently working on a number of high-profile projects in these sectors across Western Canada and the Caribbean.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This position requires an organized individual with an intermediate (minimum of 5 years experience) or senior (10+ years) level of experience who is equally capable of working independently or providing project team leadership on large-scale projects. Preferred is a candidate with a multi-faceted background demonstrating familiarity with all technical aspects of architectural design. This will include a thorough understanding of building code and building construction through experience in a variety of project typologies and delivery methods with a special focus on construction administration and contract documents.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or equivalent in Architectural Technology
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract administration and project management (Senior Technologist)
  • Advanced Skill Set in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Project
  • Experience with Canadian building codes, standards, and bylaws (including energy code)
  • Exceptional communication ability (both written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of technical detailing and construction processes
  • Understanding of building construction and the value of effective technical documents
  • Ability to utilize/knowledge of BIM coordination tools with consultants is an asset
  • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment

ADDITIONAL ASSETS:

  • Experience in specification writing, construction management, team leading, and consultant coordination would be of benefit
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and Sketch-up is an asset
  • LEED or other sustainable accreditation
  • Experience or familiarization with generative design and automated Revit plugins is an asset
  • Familiarization with various construction delivery methods is an asset
