Job Description
Tasks
- Conduct literature reviews
- Conduct program evaluations
- Conduct research on related specialized therapies
- Consult with other health care professionals to evaluate treatment plans
- Diagnose any behaviour disorders
- Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient’s outcomes
- Examine the behaviour
- Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems
- Interview patients
- Record observations
- Review reports from health care professionals to determine patients’ current and potential functioning levels
- Write progress reports
- Prepare a treatment plan for each patient
- Provide therapy
- Counsel individuals and groups to achieve more effective personal, social and vocational development and adjustment
- Implement treatment plans
- Perform administrative tasks
- Analyze the patient during the treatments
- Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them
- Counsel clients, provide therapy and mediation services, and facilitate group sessions
